Well... this has been quite a weekend... On Friday morning I woke up with a swollen foot. I didn't think too much of it, due to the fact that I've been walking 5 miles a day in a pair of shoes that are too big for my feet. BUT Saturday morning I woke up unable to walk farther than to the sofa. My right foot and calf were twice the size they should be... Normally my toes don't look like little sausages! One of my housemates ran next door to our sweetheart of a neighbour who took a look at my foot... apparently I was bit or stung by some sort of insect...
I ended up either in bed or on the sofa all weekend with a sausage leg covered in ice and propped up on a billion pillows. Praying for a miracle I called in sick to the Events crew on Sunday... I figured I'd end up being a burden more than anything.
So, I didn't see anyone but my housemates (and only occasionally) all weekend - resulting in feeling the tiniest bit homesick... maybe it wasn't homesickness as much as spring fever in the middle of autumn...
I hate (when I have to) keep myself entertained... I watched so many movies it's not even funny - but I did have a great time Skyping my family and friends... It also gave me a fantastic opportunity to spend some quality time with Jesus!
Since the swelling didn't go down (in fact, it got worse) over the weekend, I decided to skip my one class on Monday, and go to the doctor along with my housemate Clarissa who has pinkeye (yuck!). It turns out that I had a allergic reaction to the bite/sting, and my skin is infected. So, now I'm on 2 meds: an antibiotic which will help with the infection and an antihistamine which is going to help bring the inflammation around the 'injection site' down.
I am now sitting on my bed in lots of pain because of the walk to and from the doctors... but I thought I would share this with you because we are only 3 days away from Colour Conference #1, and 6 days away from the most amazing album recording in the history of Hillsong Church. Satan is terrified of what these 2 events are going to do to the local and international Church!
Proof they are going to be epic:

The only way I am going to survive the next 2 weeks are with the help of:
1. Jesus Christ
2. Sleep
3. Pain medication
We serve a great God...
Be blessed

Wow... it's been awhile since I've written my last blog... I do apologize!
Life has been slightly crazy... My days are packed full of classes, work at church, and trying to fit in time to socialize.
So, I'll give you a little update of what life has been like for me:
I've been in class for the past 2 months with 20 second semester students who are all W&CA, the majority of which are vocal students. I am the only female guitarist in my class, and 1 of the 2 that were in this year's intake. So, needless to say, I am used often!

My Mondays consist of a 3 1/2 hour class on Musicianship, which is mainly training us in our craft... which starts at 8.15am... not too bad, but it is when you have to walk 3 miles to class!

My Tuesday classes start at the bright and early hour of 8am with a 2 1/2 hour Old Testament lecture, followed by another Musicianship class. Every 2 weeks, I have had afternoon meetings with a few of the pastors and my boss preparing for the Colour Your World Conference (which is only 1 WEEK AWAY!!)... we are planning and performing a comedy act for the women... so the prep is filling my days that I am suppose to have time off!

Wednesdays are my really long days... Starting at 8.30, and finally getting out of class at 4.30... Songwriting which is most often taught by Dave Andrews one of the studio musicians here, but we have had Ray Badham, and Mia Fieldes guest teach over the past few weeks. Following our weekly Chapel service I have a 3 hour Personal Leadership lecture with our campus's principal Lee Burns, and to round out the day I have an Old Testament class (where we hash our what we learned in our pervious OT class)

Thursdays we are required to work and attend the Sisterhood meetings (our women's ministry), and then I've got a 3 hour Personal Leadership and Communication in Ministry class in the afternoon.

Fridays and Saturdays usually consist of me trying to catch up on the sleep I've missed throughout the week and working on assignments...

Sundays for me start with a brisk walk to church at 6.30am, working our 8.45 service with the Events crew, attending the 10.45 service, taking a quick nap, and getting back to church at 4.30 for the 6.00 evening service.
Now the next 2 weeks are going to be even more insane!
Colour training starts one week from today... Conference 1 is from the 26th through the 28th, Album recording (!!!!) is on on 29th, and Conference 2 is from the 30th through the 1st... thank goodness we've got both weeks off of school...

Well, I guess I shall leave you with a summary of my life so far in a collage of pictures.
Enjoy...
